Turmeric supplies curcuminoid plant compounds, and black pepper is commonly included in formulations to influence absorption. Concentrated or enhanced-absorption preparations can cause adverse effects, including liver-related problems in some cases.

Turmeric is a common spice that comes from the root of Curcuma longa. It contains a chemical called curcumin, which might reduce swelling. Because curcumin and other chemicals in turmeric might decrease swelling, it is often used to treat conditions that involve pain and inflammation.

Traditionally used as an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant. May have anti-depressive and anti-ageing qualities. Assists with heart disease, cancer and metabolic syndrome and various degenerative conditions. It may boost brain derived neurotropic factor.
